Let me preface this by saying that I live in Florida…or as some more affectionately call it – Flori duh. Sadly, the cute little nickname fits.
The latest example of why Florida earned its nick name can be found down in the Lee County area.
Soraya Billinge was pissed, mostly at her hubby but also at the officials of South West International Airport. She was tired of spending her nights alone without the company of her husband and after berating her hubby about it for a while, she decided to go straight to the culprit of the long, late-night hours her husband was forced to work – the airport itself, well sort of, in a roundabout way.
Billinge, 36 (going on 4) made a phone call to the Port Authority police at the South West International Airport. She complained at the unfairness of her husband having to work the strange and unusual hours and that she was sick of spending her nights alone. She demanded that officials do something to remedy the unjust treatment of her husband and as a result, her suffering.
NBC-2 reports that when the police dispatcher told her they could not help her, she became irate and stated, “Ok I blow up, I blow up 10 planes.” She then promptly hung up.
Mrs. Billinge, who is a resident of Lehigh Acres apparently thought about what she had done and thought she had better rectify the situation, so what does she do? She calls back and immediately denies she made the bomb threat.
Ultimately, she was arrested and charged with phoning in a bomb threat, false bomb report, arson, and finally weapon of mass destruction on a public property.
It is unknown what her husband does for the airport, but sources confirm he is not affiliated with the port authority no is he associated with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
I have to wonder just how many places of employment would be hollowed out, burnt out shells of a building if every woman resorted to bombing their husbands place of employment for what they perceive as unfair and unjust treatment.
